Asphodeline

The typical plants grown produce an elegant vertical effect, with willowy foliage, thin enough to allow you to see through to plants behind. Strong stems are clothed with starry, yellow flowers, during early summer. Good for the dry garden, but as happy in average herbaceous border, in full sun.

Although it produces abundant pollen that may be eaten by hoverflies especially, asphodelines do not appear to have a particularly strong attraction to UK native wildlife.
